September 9: Salisbury, Connecticut
Salisbury will host a one-day outdoor antiques show called “Antiques in a Cow Pasture.” More than 65 top dealers in country antiques, folk art, garden antiques, and more will be on hand for this fresh-air fete. Early buying, for $15 admission, takes place from 9 to 11 a.m.; general admission, $7, runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is a benefit for Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Connecticut. September 15–16: Portland, Maine
The 78th Annual show of the Maine Antiques Dealers Association will take place at the Racket & Fitness Center. In addition to the many antiques displays, the show is celebrating Maine history by partnering with a number of historic houses in the area as well as the Greater Portland Landmarks organization, which is known for its walking tours. September 15–16: Sandwich, Massachusetts
The oldest town on Cape Cod is a fitting site for the 20th Annual Cape Cod Glass Show, sponsored by the Sandwich Glass Museum. The town is known for the pressed glass produced at the Boston & Sandwich Glass Company during the 1800s. Some 50 dealers will present American and European antique glass, including pressed glass, Victorian glass, and 18th-century free-blown glass at the show, held at the Corpus Christi Church. September 29–30: Manchester Center, Vermont
For the 33rd Annual Vermont Antique Dealers Association Show, some 60 dealers will set up their displays inside the Hunter Park Pavilion, about a mile north of town. The dealers will create room-like settings filled with everything from country furniture and antique silver to Staffordshire and stoneware. For information: www.vermontada.com or 802/885-3705. While in town for the show, be sure to stroll the retail shops of Manchester Village, home of Orvis, the Susan Sargent home, and many other interesting establishments.
