Add height to your pumpkin and jack-o’-lantern displays with sturdy tomato cages turned upside-down, plus galvanized pails and garbage cans. Find multi-height heavy-duty tomato cages in the garden section of your local hardware store. Be sure they are sturdy. (Flimsy cages can’t hold the weight of plumpy pumpkins.) Snip off the spindly legs with bolt cutters. For staggered display heights, turn galvanized buckets and garbage pails (found at junk sales or in your garage) into pedestals. Be bold with embellishments, such as Indian corn attached to the tomato cages with twine. Set your pumpkins on top and admire your autumn scene.
