The JunkMarket gals make new, pretty pieces out of cast-off tableware—even the salt shaker that lost its pepper partner.
BUDDING BEAUTY
A flea-market serving dish and a found butter knife come together in a sweet bud vase project.
Find a hollow butter knife (you can tell by its weight, Ki says) with an oval opening to hold stems. To remove the blade, use a plumber’s torch and heat the point where the blade meets the handle. The two parts will eventually loosen so you can pull them apart. Using ceramic metal glue, attach two small flat-sided beads to the top and bottom of the knife handle so it stands out from the plate. You can find these in the jewelry section of crafts stores. Then, glue the beads to the plate. Hang with a plate hanger and add fresh or dried flowers. |
