The Basics: A simple repurpose of a junked-up stepladder yields a handy place to stash shoes and junk mail in the laundry room.
How To: No construction skills, tools, or paints are necessary for this project. Just find an old stepladder (it could be hiding in your garage), clean off the dirt and cobwebs, and bring it inside. Sue and Ki like the chipped paint and rust, but you can refresh your ladder with a new coat of paint if you want. A new canvas bag with handles, tied on with pretty ribbon, holds catalogs and mail. Pile on the sneakers, and you’re done!
