Make it
Look for a plain wooden shadowbox at a crafts store and select a frame—vintage or new—that fits. Store-bought shadowboxes come in standard frame sizes. Paint the box and frame to match, let dry, and attach them together using wood glue or caulk.
Matthew’s Secrets
Photocopied illustrations from a vintage nursery fabric create a colorful backdrop and play up the childhood theme. Cut out desired sections and glue in one at a time. If you want to change display items over time, simply keep the frame free of glass or add hinges.
TIP Copy or scan a favorite quilt, fabric, paper, or photograph to line your memory box with character.
